Wonderful place to bring the kids. Loved it.. The chocolate factory was interesting to watch, and the food reasonably priced. Fed 3 hungry adults and 2 peckish kids for under $60.
I've been here a few times and this time for the Brownie Festival. Im not much of a sweet tooth but my gf really wanted to go. A great idea to host this event we tried many great brownies and chocolates. Service was very disappointing as tables were not cleaned.
My latest visit was during the brownie festival so there were a bunch of decadent brownies on offer, and some of those flavours were available as ice cream too. Speaking of ice cream, I personally think the ice cream here trumps the chocolate. Thick, creamy and the flavours are lovely. A bit on the sweeter side, but luscious none the less.I bought a 4 pack brownie to go, and was amazed by how spot on the flavours were. The carrot cake and wagon wheel brownies tasted just like their namesake, and the autumn spice brownie was bursting with warm flavours. All very moreish!Even on a weekday, this place is packed. A bit more room to breathe than on a weekend, but still absolutely bustling. Regardless, it's a great place to bring visitors to, or for when you want to indulge in both ice cream and chocolate in a picturesque setting.
Another interstate visitor in tow we hit up the chocolaterie for some sweet treats. I’ve never ordered a dessert I wasn’t thoroughly impressed with so it was the lemon tart with a shot of warm chocolate eaten sitting out on the verandah soaking up the atmosphere whilst savouring every bite of the sugary dessert temptations. Update We had an interstate visitor so took her for her first taste of the joy that is the chocolaterie. First up I’ll say I don't recommend going anywhere near Christmas time unless you want sticky fingered children running around you. That aside, one of my favourite things to do on a Sunday is take a trip out to the Yarra Valley for lunch and finish on a sweet note at the chocolaterie. It's a delightful experience from the moment you walk in with samples of delicious chocolate buttons in large bowls (what a line).Original reviewIts always packed with people and rightly so, particularly when they have their famous hot chocolate festival or ice cream festival running. There's so many fantastic premium things for sale in the showroom it's my first port of call for all my gifting needs and if you are lucky you can peer into the open kitchen and see the chocolatiers at work. You can also book in for classes at times. The grounds are stunning and you can buy your ice cream and wander around the gardens or sit on the lawn and enjoy the picturesque countryside. The serving sizes are ginormous, I always over order and out come gigantic indulgent sundaes, perfectly tart lemon tarts, the decadent brownie which is my absolute favourite brownie I've had in life thus far and scones (possibly the biggest scone I've ever seen, don't order scones for two unless you are starving). You will always leave with your stomach heaving regretting your greedy need to sample so much but looking back on it salivating the next day. Definitely recommend going to the Easter egg hunt if you have kids I happened to be there last year on Easter weekend and they children were absolutely thrilled. No adult participation allowed sadly
Cannot get enough of this place!!!!I visit the Chocolaterie probably 3 to 4 times a year.I love this place for so many reasons... the scenery, the ice cream, the chocolate and the warm fussy feeling in your tummy.Would give Yarra Valley Chocolaterie 10 stars if possible!
